Located north of London on the Dunstable Downs in Bedfordshire, Whipsnade Zoo (ZSL Whipsnade Zoo and Whipsnade Wild Animal Park) opened in 1931; it is now the biggest zoo in the UK and one of the largest wildlife conservation parks in Europe, home to over 10,000 animals in an area of 600 acres. The Polish artist G Stanislaus Brien designed posters for London Transport in 1935. Fair condition, restored paper losses, restored tears, staining, folds, backed on old linen.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
