LT Ham House Richmond London Transport Country Walks

£350.00

Original vintage London Transport poster for Ham House by the British artist Robert Flavell Micklewright (1923-2013) featuring the historical 17th century Stuart house located by the River Thames with a manicured grass lawn and flowers in the foreground, the London Underground roundel logo and text below - Ham House near Richmond was built in 1610. Later the home of the Duke of Lauderdale, even amid the Restoration's luxury and prodigality it was one of the most lavish and talked-of houses in the country. It is today much as it was then, magnificently furnished and surrounded by glorious gardens and velvet lawns. Details of when you can visit Ham are in the free Town and Country Houses booklet. Ask for it at any London Transport Travel Enquiry Office, or write to the Public Relations Officer, 55 Broadway, SW1. Then take the Underground to Richmond and walk along the river bank. Printed by John Swain and Son Ltd. Good condition, minor creasing, minor staining, small tears.

FAQs

More information about our posters and service.

Are your posters originals?

All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.

What is a lithograph?

Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
