The William Younger & Company Brewery was founded in Edinburgh in 1778 in the grounds of Holyrood Abbey by Archibald Campbell Younger; the company was registered in 1887 and was producing a quarter of all Scotland's beers by the 1900s; in 1986 the Holyrood Brewery complex closed (now the Scottish Parliament building), and in 2017 the brand was sold to Marston's Brewery. Scotch Ale is a type of beer that refers to a strong pale ale produced in Edinburgh Scotland. Fair condition, paper browned, staining on margins, backed on linen.
