Mac Fisheries Such Game Schleger

Sold

Original vintage food advertising poster for the Mac Fisheries - Such Game! Great photomontage by the notable graphic designer Zero (Hans Schleger; 1898-1976) featuring a black and white image of a pheasant against a brown and green countryside background, the colourful text above and below with the Mac Fisheries logo in white. Mac Fisheries (1918-1979) was founded by William Hesketh Lever (1st Viscount Leverhulme; 1851-1925) of Unilever Brothers with his brother James Darcy Lever (1854-1916), incorporated into Lever Brothers Ltd in 1922 and later becoming part of Unilever (founded in 1930 as a merger between the Dutch producer Margarine Unie and the Lever Brothers). Hans Schleger pioneered the concept of corporate identity and worked on the brands and logos for John Lewis, Penguin Press and others; his work remains highly influential for designers. Very good condition, faint creases on margins.

FAQs

More information about our posters and service.

Are your posters originals?

All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.

What is a lithograph?

Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
