Original vintage food advertising poster for Bovril - Seven days make one week Bovril makes one strong - featuring bold black lettering on a white background in a red frame border. Printed in Britain in the 1930s, this campaign used puns and word play to resemble the public announcement / propaganda posters of the time. Developed by John Lawson Johnston in the 1870s, Bovril is a beef meat extract paste often used to make a hot drink or added as a flavour to stews and soup recipes when cooking or as a spread. Printed by S.H.B. Ltd Reg. D. No. 5075. Horizontal. Large size. Good condition, folds, creasing, minor staining, minor tears, minor discoloration.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
