Strandbad Buhne Lido Festival
Original vintage travel poster advertising the Strandfest Buhne festival on Sunday 11 July 1926 at Strandbad Klosterneuburg featuring a fun design depicting a smiling lady in a fashionable swimming costume and cap sitting on an inflatable ring shaped like a turtle with the face of a man wearing glasses splashing in the water below the bold stylised lettering tied to a string with the rest of the text below. Opened in 1913 the Strandbad Klosterneuburg lido is a popular outdoor water park recreation area on the River Danube with pools and beaches as well as cabins and boating activities. Artwork by the poster designer, typographer, theatre and commercial artist Mihaly Biro (1886-1948), known as the founder of political poster art. Large size. Good condition, restored paper loss, folds, staining, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?

Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
