Cunard Britannic
Original vintage advertising poster for Cunard Britannic - the Liverpool route to USA and Canada. 27,000 tons. Colourful image of the ship at sea, text above and below. Designed for both summer and winter cruising and fitted in the latest Art Deco furnishings, the MV Britannic was launched in 1929 as White Star Line's first motorship and Britain's largest motor vessel, starting her service on the Liverpool - New York route with Caribbean cruises during the winter, in 1930. Following White Star Line's merger with Cunard, the Britannic was transferred to the London - New York route and was the largest ocean liner to sail up the River Thames in 1935. During World War she served as a troop ship and, in 1947, she was completely refurbished and transferred to the Liverpool - New York route. In the 1950s she worked the Mediterranean winter cruise route and, in 1960, she was retired and scrapped; the last ship to fly the White Star Line flag. Artwork by Charles E Turner (1893-1965). Very good condition, minor restoration, backed on linen.

FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
