Built for Hamburg America Line and launched in 1913, the RMS Empress of Australia was originally named Tirpitz; her name was changed when she was bought by Canadian Pacific serving the Pacific then Atlantic routes and round the world voyages; she served as a troopship during World War Two and was scrapped in Scotland in 1952. Good condition, restored folds, restored tears, restored paper loss on bottom edge, minor creasing, minor staining, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
