Original vintage cruise travel poster - China Navigation Co Ltd Australia to the Orient By the New British Liners MV Changsha M.V. Taiyuan - featuring a stunning night view by Harold Ing (1900-1973) depicting a ship sailing in a harbour in Asia with Hong Kong city lights on the hill in the background with Hong Kong Harbour and The Peak, and people on traditional junk boats in the foreground, the lights reflected on the calm sea water and the text against the clouds above and below. The MV Changsha (launched 1948) and MV Taiyuan (launched 1949) were built by Scotts' Shipbuilding and Engineering Co of Greenock Scotland (Scotts; 1711-1993), providing passenger services between Australia, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Japan, a round voyage that took around 2.5 months. Good condition, restored paper losses, restored tears, restored pinholes, restored creasing, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
