Original vintage drink advertising poster for Billecart the champagne that remains timeless throughout the centuries / Billecart le Champagne qui franchit les siecles. First published in 1959 as a rare, large scale billboard poster, this smaller version was commissioned 10 years later by Billecart for display in bars and cafes. Colourful and fun dynamic cartoon style design by Herve Moran (1917-1980) showing a smartly dressed gentleman jumping over a bottle of popped Billecart champagne to fill his glass with the sparkling drink, the bubbles in white against the vivid red background with the text positioned above and below in white, black and yellow letters. Billecart-Salmon was founded in 1818 by Nicolas Francois Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon and is still a family owned French champagne house. Printed in France by Imprimerie Le Reveil de la Marne, Epernay. Horizontal. Excellent condition.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
