Original vintage travel poster for Switzerland by Viscount issued by Aer Lingus Irish Airlines featuring a fun and colourful design by Richard Negus (1927-1988) and Philip Sharland (1923-1986) of a man yodeling wearing traditional Swiss Tracht clothing, a decorative red waistcoat and hat with ribbons on it, in front of a cow in a field and church in a village with flowers on the grass and snow topped mountains in the background, the title text and a travel route map marked linking Dublin to Manchester Paris Zurich and Rome above and the airline logo and text below. Founded 1936 Aer Lingus is the flag carrier airline of Ireland. The British Vickers Viscount Turboprop airliners were manufactured from 1948-1963; Aer Lingus used Viscount planes from 1954 (Vickers Viscount 700 airliners from 1954-1970; Vickers Viscount 800 airliners from 1957-1973). Screen printed in The Republic of Ireland by The Ormond Printing Co Ltd Dublin. Fair condition, restored folds, restored tears, restored creasing, restored pinholes, staining, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
