Cunard White Star America RMS Queen Mary
Original vintage cruise travel poster for Cunard White Star - America This Year by RMS Queen Mary - featuring a colourful Art Deco design by Tom Curr (1887-1958) depicting a smiling lady wearing a red and black scarf, summer dress, white hat and gloves waving to the viewer with tug boats by the majestic ocean liner sailing in front of the skyscrapers of New York City across the skyline on the blue background. The British shipping company Cunard White Star Line was founded in 1934 by Cunard (founded 1840) and White Star Line (1845-1934) providing passenger and shipping transportation services on the transatlantic route until 1949 when Cunard bought out White Star. Launched in 1934 the RMS Queen Mary took her maiden voyage in 1936 as Cunard's flagship liner; she was converted during World War Two into an allied troop ship and resumed transatlantic passenger services after the war before retiring in 1967; the Queen Mary is now permanently moored as a museum and hotel ship in California. Good condition, restored areas of paper loss, restored tears, backed on linen.

FAQs

Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
