Original vintage sport travel poster for the 1952 Star Class World Championship held in Cascais Portugal - Championnats d'Europe et du Monde de la Star Class - featuring artwork by Eduardo Fortunato Jaime Anahory (1917-1985) depicting a sailing boat in white on a blue sea background with a red star between the letters I.S.C.Y.R.A. written on the sails for the International Star Class Yacht Racing Association (since 1922). The Star World Championships are international sailing regattas first held in 1923; the 1952 event was won by Agostino Straulino and Nicolo Rode for Italy with Robert Lippincott and Dan Hubers for America in second place and Duarte Manuel Bello and Fernando Bello for Portugal in third place. The Star class is a racing keelboat for two sailors designed in 1910. Issued by the Cascais Estoril Tourism Board. Printed by Amorim Lisboa. Good condition, staining, minor creasing, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
