Original vintage Soviet water sport poster for rowing and canoeing / Гребля на байдарках и каноэ held from 25-28 September at the Крылатское Krylatskoye Olympic sports centre in Moscow as part of the IX Summer Sports Spartakiada Contest of the Peoples of the USSR / Спартакиада народов СССР featuring a colourful graphic design depicting red and blue shaded diagonal stripes with rowing pictograms in black and white, the logo above and times below. Named after Spartacus the gladiator and escaped slave leader, Spartakiads / Спартакиада were multi-sport events held in the Soviet Union from 1956-1991, following the international Spartakiads held from 1928-1937. Good condition, creasing, tears, light staining, paper browning on margins.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
