Original vintage sport poster - Le Tour De France 1949 Nancy Ville Etape Tourisme Art et Histoire / City stage Tourism Art and History - featuring artwork by Alfred Selig (1907-1974) depicting a racing cyclist in Nancy against a blue, white and red background representing the French flag, surrounded by ladies in traditional dress holding hands and dancing in a circle with the places marked on the race route on the map of France. The 36th Tour de France was held from 30 June to 24 July 1949. Good condition, restored folds, staining, browning, blind embossed text on right edge, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
