Original vintage Soviet film poster for a 1968 movie directed by Yevgeni Karelov, script by Yuli Dunsky and Valeri Frid, starring Oleg Yankovskiy, Rolan Bykov and Anatoliy Papanov: Two Comrades Were Serving / Служили два товарища (Sluzhili dva tovarishcha), about two Red Army soldiers who become friends during the 1920s Russian civil war and the battle for the Crimean peninsula. Great photomontage design featuring photographs of two soldiers in uniform, one holding a rifle gun, standing behind a black silhouette of a camera with a red star printed on the lens, the stylised text in black and red letters. Good condition, small tear in top margin, folded as issued, pinholes in margins.

What is a lithograph?

Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography. 

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
