The Pickwick Papers Dickens Soviet Release
Original vintage Soviet movie poster for The Pickwick Papers – a dubbed British black and white comedy drama film based on the 1836 Charles Dickens novel and directed by Noel Langley, starring James Hayter, James Donald, Nigel Patrick, Joyce Grenfell and Hermione Gingold. Great design in blue depicting the main characters wearing smart suits and dresses at a formal event with a smiling lady holding a bunch of flowers and the face of a man wearing glasses looming in the background, the title text on the side above and credit text below. This was the first British film to be shown in the Soviet Union after World War Two (for which the USSR paid £10,000 for the distribution rights), followed by a reprint of Dickens' book in Russian. Good condition, light staining, folds, creasing, pinholes.

FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
