Chronicle of a Death Foretold
Original vintage Soviet film poster for the release of an Italian drama movie Chronicle of a Death Foretold (Cronaca di una morte annunciata / Хроника объявленной смерти) directed by Francesco Rosi, adapted by Tonino Guerra from a novella by Gabriel Garcia Marquez and starring Rupert Everett, Ornella Muti, Anthony Delon and Gian Maria Volonte. Colourful stylised illustration by Igor Markovich Maystrovsky (b. 1950) featuring a bird flying up with hands at the end of outstretched wings holding red knives against a dark background, the title text above and the rest of the text on all sides of the border. Set in Latin America and filmed in Colombia, the movie premiered at the Cannes film festival in May 1987. Horizontal. Very good condition, folded as issued.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
