Original vintage Soviet film poster for a movie Александр Невский - Alexander Nevsky an historical drama film directed by Sergei Eisenstein (1898-1948) about the attempted invasion of Novgorod in the 13th century by the Teutonic Knights of the Holy Roman Empire and their defeat by Prince Alexander (Alexander Nevsky; 1220-1263). Great artwork featuring a man on a horse wearing a red cape and brandishing an axe with an army of troops ready to attack in battle, the text above and below in stylised blue letters. This film was voted as one of the world's 100 best motion pictures according to an opinion poll conducted by an Italian publishing house Arnoldo Mondadori Editore in 1978. Fair condition, paper loss on top left corner, folds, staining, tears on margins.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.

Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
