Original vintage Italian film poster for the 1952 fictional period drama movie Moulin Rouge directed by John Huston and starring Jose Ferrer in the lead role as Toulouse-Lautrec with Suzanne Flon as Myriamme Hayam, Zsa Zsa Gabor as Jane Avril and Colette Marchand as Marie Charlet, featuring a great design by the poster artist Ercole Brini (1907-1989) in a colourful painterly style depicting three illustrations showing a French Cancan dancer from the famous Moulin Rouge dance hall in a pink and white dress performing with a man dancing in pink trousers on the left, a lady in a blue gown walking along a cobblestone street in Paris lit up by a streetlamp in the centre, and a lady in red sitting in an art studio next to an artist's paint palette with a candle in a champagne bottle in front of an easel on the right, referencing the life of the notable painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901). Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
