Original vintage travel advertising poster - On the Road to Switzerland / En Route Pour La Suisse - issued by the Swiss National Tourist Office ONST featuring a great design by the notable Swiss graphic artist and photographer Herbert Matter (1907-1984), a high-contrast black and white photomontage showing a straight cobbled road in the foreground leading to the iconic zig-zagging winding road of the Gotthard Pass below dramatic snow capped mountains towering against the blue sky in the background, the bold title diagonally in red lettering with the ONST logo below. The pioneering photographer Herbert Matter is widely considered the founder of modernist photomontage in poster art. Printed by Fretz Frere in Zurich. Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
