Orient Steam Navigation Line RMS Orion
Original vintage cruise travel poster for The New Orient Liner Orion 23,371 tons featuring a great view of the ship at sea next to a small tugboat and a sailing boat against the blue background, the bold title text above. Launched by the Orient Steam Navigation Company in 1934, the RMS Orion featured a modern interior design with the first air-conditioned public rooms on a British liner; she provided first class and tourist class passenger services from Europe to Australia via the Pacific Ocean; during World War Two she served as a troop ship; the Orion was retired in 1963, broken for scrap after being used as a floating hotel for a horticulture exhibition. Good condition, restored paper losses on edges, restored tears, restored pinholes, staining, browning, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.

Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
