White Star Line RMS Baltic Steamship Norman Wilkinson
Original antique cruise travel poster - White Star Line - featuring a stunning artwork by the notable British marine artist Norman Wilkinson (1878-1971) depicting the RMS Baltic ocean liner sailing at sea with its lights on next to a smaller boat on the choppy water below a pastel coloured evening sky. Launched in 1903 the RMS Baltic was one of the Big Four ships built by Harland and Wolff for the White Star Line; she provided passenger services between Liverpool and New York and served as a troop carrier during WWI from 1915-1918; in 1932 she was retired then scrapped in Japan. Horizontal. Good condition, restored paper losses, restored tears, creasing, staining, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
