Original vintage World War Two poster published by the GPO General Post Office as part of a campaign to encourage the public to telephone and telegraph less often in order to save man power during the war - Telegraph Less - featuring a great Modernist typographic design by the British artist and illustrator Barnett Freedman (1901-1958) of bold white and black lettering against the black lined and blue striped background with the GPO logo in the corner. Printed for H.M. Stationery Office in Great Britain by Haycock Press, London. Large size. Horizontal. Good condition, folds, tears.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
