Original vintage propaganda poster issued by the Ministry of Labour - For Workers and Jobs use the National Employment Exchange Service - featuring a great industrial design by the British artist and illustrator James Gardner (James "Leslie" Gardner; 1907-1995) at Carlton Studios depicting two workers standing on a wooden platform on a high rise skyscraper under construction surrounded by cranes and scaffolding with another high rise under construction nearby and more workers, cabins, vehicles and lorries visible at ground level, a bridge running over a river with boats on the water and other buildings and factories on the other side, the stylised title text above and below with the crown topped logo in gold. Printed for H.M Stationery Office by Johnson, Riddle & Co Ltd. Fair condition, several stains, restored paper losses, restored tears, restored creasing, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?
All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
