Religion Industrialisation Enemy USSR Ganf
Original vintage Soviet propaganda poster - Religion is the Enemy of Industrialisation - featuring a worker reading a newspaper in front of industrial factories and a steam train on one half of the image with the headline text - Atheist Accelerate the death of religion by active participation in socialist construction - and an image on the other side depicting caricature images of men as gods controlling people as saints like puppets on a string from a cloud with a person climbing up a chimney to a priest at the top, the factories all damaged with spider webs over them and a drunk man sitting in the foreground with a loaf of Easter bread and empty bottle of vodka on the grass, the poem along the bottom reads - Easter. With God strictly in step Already tipsy in the morning Glory! Glory to God in the highest Alcohol on earth! The evil spirits clogged the pipes, They do not smoke and do not buzz From above, from the sky, factory worker and the priest are looking while baring their teeth Smoking chimneys, blasting furnaces, trains humming Continuous weeks of continuous work The factory man is not laughing, something the pope is not happy about at all: the songs of Lenin's brigades are in the Red workshops Instead of Easter Drive the slogan into the mind clearly. The clang of iron, the roar, the rumble Where there is Easter, there is vodka, And where there is vodka, there is absenteeism Let's meet Easter with a bold battle in factories, at machine tools, not with a bottle, not with a prayer, but with the Bezbozhnik (CCCP / USSR Godless news) in our hands. Good condition, folds, creasing, small tears on edges, staining.

FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
