Original vintage Soviet propaganda poster encouraging young people to study technical sciences to become protectors of their country - Крепите обороноспособность своей отчизны! / Soviet Youth strengthen the defences of your Homeland - featuring an illustration depicting a young man working on a rocket on a yellow background with the logo and text on the side and slogan in blue lettering below. Young people were motivated to study engineering and science following the successful mission of Yuri Gagarin as the first man in space 1961. Artwork by Konstantin Kuzginov (1913-2008). Published by DOSAAF / ДОСААФ the Volunteer Society for Cooperation with the Army, Aviation and Fleet that was founded in 1927 for the development of paramilitary sports as a preparation for reserve armed forces. Horizontal. Very good condition, small tears on edges.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
