Yenidze Cigarettes Herbert Leupin Midcentury
Original vintage advertising poster for Yenidze cigarettes featuring a great mid-century style illustration by the notable Swiss graphic designer Herbert Leupin (1916-1999) depicting a gambling themed image of a green pack of Yenidze cigarettes marked Salem No 6 with a cigarette jutting up from the top of the pack next to a dice showing 6 and a heart in the upper left and lower right corners like a playing card against a dark blue background. Yenidze was founded in 1886 by Hugo Zietz, named after the tobacco growing area in Turkey (now called Giannitsa and located in northern Greece); the company's distinctive mosque style factory building was built in 1909 in Dresden - the Oriental Tobacco and Cigarette Factory - and sold in 1924 to the Reemtsma cigarette group, now an office building. Large size. Very good condition, folds, small creases on margins.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
