Original vintage travel advertising poster - To Modern Africa issued by Sabena - featuring a colourful mid-century design by Gaston Vanden Eynde (1923-1983) depicting tall buildings surrounded by trees with silhouettes of people walking by a car parked at the entrance, an elephant in front of trees on the right and a hut on left, a plane flying in front of the sunshine yellow, orange and red sky above with a palm tree in the foreground, the title on the side of the image in bold black letters and the Sabena logo with the text in white below - 40 years experience Belgian World Airlines. Sabena (Societe Anonyme Belge d'Exploitation de la Navigation Aerienne), was the national airline of Belgium from 1923-2001. Printed in Brussels. Good condition, restored paper loss in top right corner, restored tears, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
