Original vintage advertising poster for the 15th World Ploughing Contest held in Rhodesia 1968 (Zimbabwe Africa) on the 26 and 27 April featuring a stunning midcentury design depicting a stylised image of a Zimbabwe Bird on a column, one of the ancient medieval soapstone sculptures from the Great Zimbabwe ruins and now a national symbol, with the official emblem of the World Ploughing Organisation in white featuring farming equipment and a globe within a laurel wreath, and the bold text above, below and on the sides in red. The annual World Ploughing Contest is an international competition showcasing precision, skill and technique in soil cultivation. Good condition, restored tears, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
