Original vintage travel poster promoting Finland published in French by the Finnish Tourist Association - Venez avec moi en Finlande / Come with me to Finland - featuring a fun mid-century modern design by the notable Finnish poster artist Heikki Ahtiala (1913-1983) depicting a smiling man in a hat with a striped blue scarf and coat running and carrying a suitcase with travel stickers on the side of it, as photographs fly out from his pocket towards the viewer with images of a scenic fjord and a map marking Finland on Europe in blue and white, the bold text below in French against the bright yellow background. The award winning poster designer Heikki Ahtiala won joint first place in the Helsinki 1952 Olympic Games poster competition. Very good condition, folds, creasing.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
