Original vintage Soviet travel poster for the Caucasian Riviera promoting vacations on Black Sea resorts, featuring a Lubok-style design depicting a seagull flying over blue water and green and red plants with a resort below. The text in stylised lettering in Russian reads - Kuban and Black Sea resorts: Anapa, Semigorye, Kabardinka, Gelendzhik, Goryachiy Klyuch, Yeysk, Sochi, Uch-Dere, Matsesta, Krasnaya Polyana, Tuapse region. Sochi and Gelendzhik are open all year round, and the rest from May to October. Anapa - Golden Beach - Children's Paradise. Matsesta is the only source in the world with sulfur-hydrogen content. Blessed south, warm Black Sea, subtropical vegetation in Sochi, beautiful seaside places protected from the north by the Caucasus Range. The sun shines brightly for two-thirds of the year! Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
