XX Century Progress Space Travel USSR
Original vintage movie poster for a Soviet documentary film XX Century / ХХ Век featuring a dynamic design by Nikolai Homov (1903-1973) depicting a red rocket blasting up into space leaving a trail circling in front of a planet and the title text in bold blue lettering on the dark background, the image resembling the Monument to the Conquerors of Space / Покорителям космоса obelisk in Moscow (opened 1964; based on a design created in 1958). This film documents the progress of the early 20th century from the end of the 19th century to the 1950s space race era through significant world events using footage produced by different countries, from the Central State Archives of the USSR and the State Film Fund. Good condition, folds, creasing, tears, minor staining.

FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
