1935 Monaco Grand Prix Geo Ham Art Deco
Original vintage poster for the 1935 Monaco Grand Prix car race held on 22 April featuring a striking Art Deco design by Geo Ham (Georges Hamel; 1900-1972) featuring a Mercedes W25, one of the so-called Silver Arrows cars, ahead of a red Alfa Romeo P3 Tipo B. The dynamic and stylish cars are seen racing each other at speed with the sun shining on Monte Carlo in the background below the blue sky, the title above and event date below - 7e Grand Prix Automobile Monaco 22 Avril 1935. This stunning poster is a testament to the history of Monaco Grand Prix racing and is one of the most sought-after early motor racing posters. The 1935 Formula One race was dominated by Mercedes-Benz and won by the Italian driver Luigi Fagioli in their powerful W25B model. The French painter Geo Ham is a true master of auto racing art and is well known for his posters and illustrations featuring cars and aeroplanes. Excellent condition, small tears, light creasing, backed on linen.

FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
