Original vintage drink advertising poster for the Lesparre Medoc Wine Fair / Lesparre-Medoc Foire aux vins held from 1-3 August 1952. Colourful map design depicting radiating yellow lines from the centre of the region in yellow marking Lesparre and other towns and villages following the Gironde estuary down to the Garonne and Dordogne rivers by Bordeaux with a bunch of grapes and vine leaf behind a coat of arms and an old fortress tower on the coast of the Bay of Biscay, the title text above in red across the image and below in white letters on the red border. Large size. Good condition, restored paper losses on image and margins, restored tears, restored creasing, minor staining, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
