Original vintage advertising poster for the Aufgalopp Faschingsfest Lent Carnival on 9 January 1937, an annual event sponsored by the Munich Racing Association. Colourful lively design by Ludwig Lutz Ehrenberger (1878-1950) featuring a young lady wearing a blue dress and hat and holding a glass of drink in one hand and the reins of a rearing white horse in her other hand, surrounded by a crowd of people wearing fancy dress costumes while a young lady in a guard uniform pops open a bottle of champagne in the foreground, the cork shooting into the illuminated sky with the text above in yellow and below in blue. Printed in Germany by Chromolith Kunstanstalt A.G., Munchen. Large size. Very good condition, small repaired tears in margins.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
