Original antique winter sport poster for the 4th International Ski Competition organised by the French Alpine Club Alpin Francais (CAF; founded 1874) and held from 21-27 January 1910 in the Pyrenees resorts of Eaux Bonnes and Cauterets featuring a ski jumper zooming to a stop balancing with outstretched arms on wooden skis in the snow in the foreground at the end of a ski jump piste with flags of different countries lining the run by the spectator area on the side including the flags of Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden and France, the CAF coat of arms decorated with the red, white and blue tricolour ribbons of the French flag and Chemins de Fer du Midi / French Railways in the border above. Printed by J. Biere 56 Rue Du Hautour Bordeaux. Large size. Very good condition, minor tear restored, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?

Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
