Original vintage Soviet space race propaganda poster - The Way to the Planets is Open to Mankind! К Планетам Человеку Путь Открыт! - issued in celebration of the first man in space on 12 April 1961, the pilot and cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin (Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin; 1934-1968) depicting a man holding out his arms on a Vostok spacecraft in front of a large red flag with the hammer and sickle State Emblem of the Soviet Union on it, white rays radiating from a sun marked with the date on the yellow background, the rest of the text in bold red lettering on the side. Large size. Very good condition, restored tears on edges, minor staining, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?

Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography. 

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
