Original vintage World War Two propaganda poster - Award For Careless Talk Don't discuss Troop movements Ship sailings War equipment - by Steven Dohanos (1907-1994) featuring a dramatic design of a man's hand adorned with a Nazi ring on one finger, holding an Iron Cross award against a red background with a jagged edge, the bold text in black and blue letters above and below. The reverse of the poster features the following text - Award for Careless Talk Stevan Dohanos, whose "Award for Careless Talk" poster appears on the opposite side, is one of those rare artists who combines a distinguished talent for both "fine" and "commercial" art. Probably most widely known as an illustrator for national magazines, he also demonstrates his grasp of powerful poster technique in this dramatic anti-loose-talk display. Distributed for the issuing agencies by the Office of War Information. Very good condition, folded as issued, small tears, pencil on reverse.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
