Original vintage travel advertising poster - TAI Transports Aeriens Intercontinentaux Map of the World - Colourful planisphere by Luc-Marie Bayle (1914-2000) showing the airline's routes across the globe surrounded by fun images of explorers in different modes of transport from hot air balloons and an early Wright flyer to a modern TAI plane and rowing boats to sailing ships with fish and birds on both sides of a decorative compass point below and the TAI coat of arms title between the stars in the night sky above. In 1963, TAI merged with Union Aeromaritime de Transport to form UTA French Airlines (merged into Air France in 1992). Limited print run of 500. Horizontal. Good condition, restored folds, restored tears, restored paper losses on right corner, staining, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
