LT London Country Village London Transport
Original vintage London Transport poster - In London's Country - designed by the notable British illustrator and novelist Leonard Cyril Deighton (Len Deighton, 1929-1926) featuring illustrations of chickens and a cockerel, an owl and cats on the sides of the text - In London's Country there are still many villages, described in Domesday, whose beauty survives. Here cottages crouch around the green or follow the line of the road as casually as the trees. The Londoner should often see these quiet places as an antidote to his crowded streets. The visitor from abroad cannot claim to have really seen London if he has neglected London's country and has not seen its villages. They offer a rewarding and revealing sample of the essential England - with the London Transport logo next to information on country buses, Green Line coach travel, the Underground and Village Life leaflet below. Printed by the Curwen Press, Plaistow. Good condition, folds, creasing, tears, minor staining.

FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
