Original vintage travel advertising poster - To Modern Africa issued by Sabena - Design by Gaston Vanden Eynde (1923–1983) features skyscrapers surrounded by trees with a car parked by the entrance, alongside an African elephant and a hut. Palm tree in the foreground set over a red banner with the Sabena logo made to celebrate 40 years of the airline. Sabena (Societe Anonyme Belge d'Exploitation de la Navigation Aerienne), was the national airline of Belgium from 1923-2001. Printed in Brussels. Good condition, restored paper loss in top right corner, restored tears, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
