Original vintage London Transport travel advertising poster - Visit the Queen's State Apartments Kensington Palace by Underground Anne 1702 1714 - featuring a regal design by the notable illustrator and commercial artist Austin Cooper (1890-1964) depicting the coat of arms shield with an image of Anne (1665-1714) in coronation dress and the London Underground text below. Anne reigned as the Queen of England, Scotland and Ireland from 1702, and Queen of Great Britain and Ireland following the ratification of the Acts of Union 1707 merging the kingdoms of Scotland and England, until her death in 1714. Originally built in 1605 the historic Kensington Palace has served as a residence for the British royal family since the 17th century; the Queen's Apartments were added by Anne during her reign by the notable English architect Christopher Wren (1632-1723), along with the gardens and Orangery designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor and .John Vanbrugh Printed by Sanders Phillips & Co., The Baynard Press. What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
