It depicts our infantry clearing a German stronghold destroyed by our artillery. The sketches which served as the basis for the painting were drawn on site during the action by Major C. F. Comfort, official war painter of the Canadian army who subsequently incorporated them into this oil painting. Horizontal. Large size. Good condition, restored folds, restored paper losses, restored tears, staining, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?

Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography. 

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
