The Sea Hawk
Original vintage Soviet film poster for the release in Uzbekistan of a 1924 American silent movie The Sea Hawk about an Elizabethan English gentleman who is sold into slavery and escapes to become a pirate captain, directed by Frank Lloyd and adapted by J.G. Hawks based on the 1915 book by Rafael Sabatini (1875-1950), starring Milton Sills as Sir Oliver Tressilian, Enid Bennett and Lloyd Hughes. Striking constructivist design showing the face of a menacing bearded man at the top with a smaller image of the same man breaking his slave chains and climbing over the side of a wooden boat below, set against a red background with the stylised title text on diagonal lines in the centre. Good condition, restored folds, tears and loss, backed on linen.

FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
