Original vintage cinema poster for the musical romantic comedy Bollywood movie - Anari - released in 1959 by LB Films starring Raj Kapoor as Raj Kumar, Nutan as Aarti Sohanlal and Lalita Pawar as Mrs. L. D'Sa, directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee (1922-2006) with music by Shankar Jaikishan (1922-1987) and partner Jaikishan Dayabhai Panchal (1929-1971). Great artwork depicting a smiling young man wearing a hat and a happy young lady wearing a sari sitting on a black bicycle both looking up to the blue sky with white clouds in the background, the stylised text below in red, yellow and white with the title of the film in Indian and its translation in English and the LB Films logo above. Raj Kapoor (Ranbir Raj Kapoor; 1924-1988) was a popular Bollywood film actor, producer and director. Printed by Jagtap Offset Lithworks in Bombay. Very good condition, restored minor loss and folds, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
