Large original vintage movie poster for the classic American political drama film Advise & Consent based on the novel by Allen Drury, directed by Otto Preminger and starring Henry Fonda, Charles Laughton, Don Murray, Walter Pidgeon, Peter Lawford, Gene Tierney, Franchot Tone and Lew Ayres. Great design by the notable American graphic designer and filmmaker Saul Bass (1920-1996) showing a stylised depiction of the United States Capitol in Washington with a hand opening the dome to reveal the actors' names with the title below, set against a red background. Litho in USA. Very good condition, restored minor tears on folds, Canadian censor stamp on top right corner, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
