Triplex Cassandre Photomontage
Original vintage double-sided foldout advertising brochure issued by Triplex - manufacturers of safety glass for cars - featuring an iconic Art Deco photomontage image on the front of a driver behind the wheel of a car with the Triplex VTX Verre logo on the windscreen. The brochure also features text, an image of shattered safety glass and letters headed by Hotchkiss and Peugeot inside. Alliance Graphique Paris. Artwork by the notable artist, A. M. Cassandre (1901-1968). Laminated safety glass or shatter proof glass - Triplex - is formed of sheets of glass with a composite material interlayer to provide better strength and protection; it was discovered by accident in 1903 by a French chemist and painter, Edouard Benedictus (1879-1930), who filed a patent for his invention in 1910. Excellent condition, folded.

Are your posters originals?
All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
