End of St Petersburg Pudovkin
Large original vintage movie poster for a 1927 Soviet drama film End of St Petersburg (Конец Санкт Петербурга / Konets Sankt Peterburga) directed by Vsevolod Pudovkin and Mikhail Doller and starring Aleksandr Chistyakov, Vera Baranovskaya and Ivan Chuvelyov. Great constructivist design by the notable Soviet poster artist Semyonov-Menes (1895-1972) featuring the statue of the Russian Tsar Alexander III (1845-1894) on a horse adorned with red flowers against an orange background with the face of a lady above and three men's faces below, two laughing men and one serious man, the title running through the centre in white on a diagonal red banner against the black border background. Good condition, restored tears, folds and minor loss on margins, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
