Original trade card for a US musical film Ziegfeld Follies of 1946, featuring an all star cast: Fred Astaire, Judy Garland, Lucille Ball, Lucille Bremer, Gene Kelly and others. Directed by Roy Del Ruth and Vincente Minnelli, produced by Arthur Freed. In Technicolor. Fantastic image of The Gorgeous Girl designed by American pin-up artist, George Brown Petty IV (1894-1975), who produced images of pin-up girls for Esquire and his artwork of what became known as "Petty Girls" was popular as nose art decoration on warplanes during World War Two, including the Memphis Belle. The movie was a cinematic take on The Ziegfeld Follies theatrical production on Broadway, New York City, that ran from 1907 to 1931 and was inspired by the Folies Bergere of Paris, conceived by Florenz Ziegfeld. What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
